How the skilled visa points test works
- You need at least 65 points to be invited to apply for a subclass 189, 190 or 491 visa.
- You must be under 45 when you are invited to apply.
- Points for skilled work inside and outside Australia are added together, up to a maximum of 20 points.
- You get points for your highest qualification only.
- The extra study and skills items are separate: you can claim each one you meet.
