Since 1 July 2026, eligible Papua New Guinea citizens can use a streamlined "Apply again" option when they apply for a new Visitor visa (subclass 600). It is for people who have had a Visitor visa before and followed its conditions.
What changed
The "Apply again" option sits inside ImmiAccount. It covers two streams of the Visitor visa (subclass 600):
- the Tourist stream
- the Business Visitor stream
Date: available from 1 July 2026 (announced 3 July 2026). Who it affects: Papua New Guinea citizens.
Who can use it
Home Affairs says the option is for PNG citizens who:
- have a history of immigration compliance, and
- had a Visitor visa (subclass 600) in the Business Visitor or Tourist stream finalised in the previous five years.
If that's not you, apply for the Visitor visa the usual way through ImmiAccount. PNG passports are not eligible for the ETA or eVisitor.
What to do now
- Log in to ImmiAccount, where the "Apply again" option is offered to eligible applicants.
- If you don't qualify, lodge a standard Visitor visa (600) application instead.
- For details, Home Affairs refers applicants to the Australian High Commission in Papua New Guinea.
Our Australian visa guide for PNG citizens covers the other options, including work and holiday visas and the PALM scheme.
